Tripoint Lending is a loan-connection service for U.S. adults who need a personal loan between $500 and $5,000. We do not lend money. Instead, we take one short request and share it with lenders in our network who may be able to make an offer, so you can compare options side by side rather than filling out the same application again and again.
Our name comes from a simple idea: every good borrowing decision sits at the meeting point of three things, which are the borrower's real budget, a lender's fair offer, and clear information that connects the two. We built the service to make that meeting point easier to reach.
Our Story
Tripoint Lending started when a small group of consumer-finance writers and product builders noticed how hard it was for everyday households to compare small personal loans without hours of searching and repeated credit applications.
Several of us had spent years answering reader questions about car repairs, vet bills and surprise medical costs. The same frustration came up constantly: people did not know which lenders served their credit range, could not tell what an APR really meant for a monthly budget, and worried that shopping around would hurt their credit. We designed a single request form, a soft-inquiry check, and a library of guides to solve those three problems together. Today the service has helped about 71,000 customers, and borrowers rate the experience 4.7 out of 5 across 4,970 ratings.
Our Mission
Our mission is to help U.S. borrowers compare small personal loan offers quickly, understand the full cost before they sign, and borrow only what fits their budget.
That means we measure success by whether you leave with a clearer picture, not by whether you take a loan. Sometimes the best outcome is deciding to wait, asking a creditor for a payment plan, or borrowing a smaller amount.
How Our Connection Model Works
Tripoint Lending collects one request, runs a soft credit inquiry that does not affect your credit score, and passes your details to lenders in our network who may want to make an offer.
Lenders then make every credit decision and set the APR, fees and repayment terms. Typical estimated APRs from lenders in our network run about 6.99% to 35.99%, with terms commonly between 3 and 24 months. Using our service is free and carries no obligation. Lenders compensate us when we connect them with borrowers, which is explained in full on our advertiser and lending disclosure. For a step-by-step view, visit how our loan-matching process works.
What We Value
Four values guide every page and product decision at Tripoint Lending: honesty about costs, respect for your privacy, plain language, and fairness to borrowers across the credit spectrum.
- Honest costs. We show estimates as estimates, publish a representative example, and never promise approval.
- Privacy first. We share your information only as needed to find offers and run the service, as described in our privacy policy.
- Plain language. Terms like APR, origination fee and amortization are explained in everyday words, with a full loan glossary for reference.
- Fairness. People with fair or limited credit deserve accurate information too, so we write for every credit profile, not only the highest scores.
Our Editorial Team
Three staff writers and editors create and review the guides on Tripoint Lending, and each article is checked for accuracy, clarity and current lender practices before it is published.
- Renata Calloway-Pruitt, Senior Consumer Credit Editor. Renata has spent eleven years writing about installment lending, credit reports and loan disclosures, and she reviews every cost example and APR estimate before a guide goes live.
- Desmond Achterberg, Personal Finance Writer. Desmond spent eight years as a community credit union loan officer. He covers debt consolidation and borrowing with fair or damaged credit, with worked examples that show the real monthly payment.
- Lena Moraitis-Ford, Budgeting and Household Expenses Specialist. Lena spent nine years in nonprofit credit counseling. She writes about planning for vet bills, funeral costs and seasonal spending, and keeps our glossary current.
Our writers do not receive pay tied to any lender, and lender compensation never changes what our guides say about costs or risks.
What We Are Not
Tripoint Lending is not a lender, a broker that negotiates on your behalf, a credit repair company, or a financial adviser, and we never make credit decisions or service loans.
We do not charge borrowers fees, and we cannot change a lender's decision, APR or terms. Once you accept an offer, your loan agreement is directly with that lender, and questions about payments or account changes go to the lender. Not every request receives an offer, and offers depend on your credit, income, state and each lender's own criteria.
